Parent / School Compact
School:
- We are committed to providing a standards-based quality, biliterate education for your child.
- We will provide you, the parent, with one Progress Report throughout the school year to keep you abreast as to your child’s progress.
- If you call the school, we will set up appointments to meet and discuss your child’s academic standing (we will respond within four workdays).
- We will support struggling students in small group differentiated instruction both during class time and in some cases in after school programs if budget allows.
- Parent workshops will be conducted on various issues throughout the school year (High School Application process, promotional criteria…).
Parent/Guardian:
- Will attend relevant meetings and request important information via the Parent Coordinator, Ms. Morales and/or School Guidance Counselor.
- Discuss/support their child in meeting and exceeding all rules, assignments and criteria for promotion including attendance and homework.
- Parent/Guardian will monitor student Progress Reports, assessments and Report Cards and address issues that arise promptly.
- Parent/Guardian will respond to a staff member’s request for a meeting.
- Parent/ Guardian will take an active role in supporting their child in the academic process in order to promote academic and personal success.
Notes: Middle School parents will be asked to sign a contract stating the above. Without parental support, success is more of a challenge.
