Student Conduct
Code of Conduct for Students
All students are expected to adhere to and abide by the Student Code of Conduct detailed below.
Behavior:
- I will follow all school and Department of Education rules and understand that failure to do so will lead to disciplinary action.
- I will represent only the best of myself to the school community.
- I will respect the learning process for myself and for my classmates.
- I will seek support in dealing with any disagreements.
Service:
- I will commit to participating in school events that support our school community.
- In grades 7 and 8, I will commit to providing at least 5 hours of service to my school or immediate community.
Work Ethics:
- I commit to taking responsibility for my life.
- I commit to working towards my goals.
- I will be responsible for my attendance and lateness.
- I commit to completing all homework assignments, projects, and all requirements for my specific grade.
- I commit to maintaining notebooks and folders that reflect my work and provide evidence of my accomplishments.
- I agree to discuss with school personnel any issues that may arise pertaining to my grades early on in the year.
- I commit to providing my parents important information regarding my education (progress reports, school memos, report cards, High School applications…).
- I commit to speaking in an educated manner even in times of distress.
Note: Middle School students will be required to sign a contract agreeing to the above code of conduct. Students must understand that they are responsible for their actions and for their success.
A copy of the New York City Discipline Code will be sent home in the beginning of the year.
