Grading Policy for School Year 2020-2021
Honor Roll
Principal's List:
- Students are eligible who have 95-100% or above averages in all major subject and no more than 8 absences or lateness.
First Honors
- Students are eligible who have a 90-94% averages on all major subjects and no more than 8 absences or lateness.
Second Honors
- Students are eligible who have an 85-89% average on all major subjects and no more than 8 absences or lateness.
Third Honors
- Students are eligible who have an 80-84% average on all major subjects and no more than 8 absences or lateness
Failure Policy
- Students are considered to have failed a subject if a grade of less than 65% is received. A student has failed a subject for the school year if the final average in a class is less than 65%. A student that has failed one or more core subjects (Math, Science, ELA and Social Studies) may be asked to attend summer school. Eighth graders who have failed one major subject must attend summer school.
- Grades are an important indicator as to how students are meeting (or not meeting) grade standards.
- For specific information on different grade levels refer to the promotional criteria for each grade. Remember the administration along with teachers may use grades as part of the multiple criteria for promotion for any given grade.
